TRAIN Program

A competitive focus to training

The TRAIN Program is designed for committed fencers to train for and participate in age specific competition at the city, provincial or national levels. Fencers should already be participating in or planning to participate in competition at the coach recommended level.

Athletes are challenged technically and physically through more advanced skills, techniques, and tactics. Training includes footwork, partner drills, scorebox fencing and physical conditioning. Private Lessons are highly recommended for TRAIN Program fencers and are mandatory for those competing at Provincial Level (Alberta Cups) or higher.

Fencers in the TRAIN Program meet in a specific training group once per week, practice fencing 2-3 times per week and participate in events.  Fencers must be approved by the coaching staff to enter the program, for more information on this process contact administration.
