INSIDE Fencing Calgary
FENCING CALGARY
About Fencing Calgary
Fencing Calgary is dedicated to delivering high‑quality, accessible fencing programs for children, youth, and adults across the city. Our mission is to foster a lifelong love of the sport while supporting the personal growth of every participant—on and off the piste.
We believe fencing is more than competition. It is a powerful tool for developing focus, confidence, discipline, and decision‑making. Our programs are built around progressive skill development, positive coaching, and a supportive community environment that welcomes fencers of all backgrounds and experience levels.
A Strong Foundation in Épée Fencing
Épée is at the core of our training philosophy and serves as the primary weapon focus for our programs. Épée fencing encourages independent thinking, patience, and accountability - every point matters, and athletes must make clear decisions under pressure.
By emphasizing épée, we help fencers build strong technical fundamentals, tactical awareness, and confidence that transfers across all stages of development, from introductory participation through advanced training.
Athlete‑Centred Coaching & Development
Our international coaching team brings a wide range of experience and perspectives, united by a shared commitment to Safe Sport, athlete‑centred coaching, and long‑term development. We work with each fencer as an individual, recognizing that progress looks different for everyone.
A Community‑First Approach
Fencing Calgary operates through both a central training location and multiple community‑based sites across the city, underscoring our commitment to accessibility. We strive to remove barriers to participation by offering inclusive programs, progressive pathways, and opportunities for fencers to explore the sport at a pace that suits them.
From first‑time participants to experienced athletes, we are proud to support a vibrant fencing community built on respect, teamwork, and a shared passion for the sport.
